A Moment's Appreciation...

Specialising in "found" images cameron-eleri-photography capture a moment in time.  None of their pictures are set up but instead record a fleeting, seemingly insignificant subject or mood.  Their motto..."If you look away too soon, you may as well not look at all."

Daring Danish

Enter this squeaky clean, bright space and feel the complications of the outside world melt away. This Danish home, self-built by Camilla and Lars Thomsen was spurred on by the passion and desire they had to live in a "modern, simple and square" home.  The result is a harmonious blend filled with their personality.  A highly polished concrete floor is so smooth it resembles marble....

Victorian Squeeze

The craving for more space and light can be all consuming, and here's proof that even in a slim Victorian house, an extension can make significant and potent changes.

Inside Out Living

Allowing the outside in is a hot trend that looks set to snowball.  This stunning extension is by Apropos.

Through the Keyhole

So who lives in a home like this?  Take a look at this colourful, stylish yet practical contemporary home with a touch of fun.  This west London home of a famous designer combines an interesting balance between eclectic and  modern.

A backdrop of white is punctuated with bold splashes of colour and the iconic Andy Warhol Marilyns.  The use of black grounds the scheme....

The timeless 1962 classic Arco lamp sweeps over ten red Ant chairs and a black B&B Italia dining table...

The designer's own Fleur wallpaper lines the study/office walls....

Clearly not afraid of colour in the home a beautiful floral array of blue and green makes a magnificent hallway display on an old table.  The Mimosa hallway wallpaper adds a wonderful yellow contrast....

I'll let you know whose home it is next week.  In the meantime, have a super weekend and thanks for reading.  : )

Serene Picasso

The new Puitan range at John Lewis is simple, contemporary, quietly classy, serene and minimalist.  This Pablo Picasso 40 x 50 cm print in a black ash frame captures Picasso's characteristic fresh and free approach to modern art.

American studio Aidlin Darling Design have a stunning portfolio.  Here's a space they designed which was named as a finalist in the interior design category of the 2010 National Design Awards.  Love this bright loft.

Find Your Niche

I love wall niches, especially in bathrooms, filled with plump, fluffy, freshly folded towels or displaying gorgeous accessories or luxury toiletries.  Here's a niche in a living area.  So simple to create yet hugely effective.
