Wow Extension

A stunning double-storey rear house extension frees up masses of indoor space and links smoothly into to the garden.  The architects were careful to respect the existing heritage cottage, keeping the size of the extension lower than the height of the original building and making sure it isn't visible from the road at the front of the property.

Recycled timber flooring and travertine stone floors set the scene for the restrained palette of natural materials used in the interior of this house in Sydney, Australia.   The use of wood provides a continuous link between the original and new part of the house which includes a stunning double-height northern window with timber screen-over and an adjacent interior double-height grasscloth wall.
