Art's Big Week

London is buzzing in anticipation of the 2010 Frieze Art Fair which has promised to be the largest in its eight year history.  173 galleries from 29 countries will be setting their stalls in Regent's Park from 14-17 October.

"One of the few opportunities to get a truly representative picture of artists across the world," says The Times.

The fair has had more applications than ever before this year, which many feel is a sign of a thriving art market, in direct contrast to all the financial doom and gloom elsewhere.

"I have no crystal ball but certainly in the art market, things have settled down," said co-director Matthew Slotover. "Very few galleries have closed. It's surprising, but the economy seems to be buoyant enough."
